James Bond Island, que se hizo famosa gracias a la película “El hombre de la pistola de oro”, es una de las atracciones más reconocibles de la bahía de Phang-Nga. Los altos acantilados de piedra caliza y las aguas tranquilas alrededor de la isla crean vistas espectaculares ideales para navegar en yate.

History of the island

Previously, the island was called "Ko Tapu", which means "wedge" or "nail". Su forma única atrajo la atención del director que filmó en 1974 la película "El hombre de la pistola de oro". La aparición de la isla en la película la hizo famosa por un tiempo, y pronto pasó a llamarse "James Bond Island", lo que provocó un aumento del flujo de turistas.

James Bond Island es una de las muchas islas de piedra caliza de Phang Nga Bay, formadas hace más de 150 millones de años. Este archipiélago fue en su día un arrecife de coral, que con el tiempo se convirtió en islas y rocas únicas por la acción de la naturaleza. Aquí puede ver estalactitas y grutas, así como explorar hermosas lagunas en kayak. La bahía de Phang Nga forma parte del Parque Nacional Marino de Ao Phang Nga, y la propia isla fue declarada reserva natural en 1981.

I would like to share my experience here. It’s not all bad. I personally never got to take the tour because it never even got that far. I contacted them through WhatsApp and got a quick response, which was great. I clarified everything and booked the tour from 2 PM to 6 PM. I confirmed multiple times that I would be coming to the tour and asked what I should bring, etc. The next morning, I woke up to a message saying that I was not supposed to have booked the tour because I had not made a prepayment, even though I had asked multiple times where I could pay. They then only sent me the payment methods, but without any payment link. On top of that, messages from the operator had been deleted, which confused me as well. Poor communication 👍🏽

My friends and I chose option “James Bond Island by catamaran”. I’ve never traveled with this company before but heard good things about them and turned out every word was true. We had an amazing experience, the crue is thoughtful, attentive and caring. We shared a really great time, and for very good price which is a nice part too. Next time here I will definitely choose Dream Charter for swimming adventures
